The Webster County School Board has approved salaries for various administrators/supervisors and others for the next school year.
Superintendent Brian Jones, on May 14, recommended the board approve 2018-19 salaries for these administrators and department heads: special services director, special education director, district tech coordinator, Central Office business manager, food services director, bus shop director and district maintenance director.
Board members approved his recommendation, according to the minutes. They also approved classified personnel salaries, prorated salaries, and coaching supplements and contract days for the upcoming school year.

Other action taken by the board on May 14:
• Approved Adam Dillinger as assistant principal at Eupora High School effective July 1.
• Approved Amir Hunt as assistant athletic director at EHS effective July 1.
• Approved a revision to the Intellectually Gifted policy as mandated by the Mississippi Department of Education.
• Approved an increase in the student breakfast price to $1.25, student lunch price to $2.75 and adult lunch price to $3.25 for the 2018-19 school year upon the recommendation of Child Nutrition Director Amy Rollins.
• Approved the Professional Development Report for 2017-18.
• Approved the board meeting schedule for 2018-19. The dates after July 1 are July 16, Aug. 13, Sept. 10, Oct. 15, Nov. 12, Dec. 10, Jan. 14, Feb. 11, March 18, April 8, April 15 and May 13, all at 6 p.m. Special-called meetings may take place throughout the school year.
• Approved a proposal from Terracon Consultants for continued services related to asbestos regulations. Its bid was the lower of two presented.
• Approved a memorandum of understanding for the Educator in Residence program through MDE for Kenny Gibson and Elisa Brooks.
• Approved a request from a parent who lives in Webster County but is employed by the Starkville-Oktibbeha County School District for her child to be released to attend school in the district where she works.
• Approved the closing of all district offices July 4-6 in observance of the July Fourth holiday.
• Approved a request from Hunt and the softball booster club to relocate the EHS softball game field to the current location of the practice field. The main reason for the request was because of drainage issues at the current game field.
• Approved recommendations from the principals of Eupora Elementary School and East Webster Elementary School to hire Courtney Pilgrim and Stephanie Snyder as teachers effective July 1.
• Approved the hiring of Charlene Sanders as cafeteria manager effective July 1.
• Approved the transfer of Del Hodges to the Central Office and Webster County Career and Technology Center as custodian and maintenance helper effective June 1.
• Approved Sterling Belt Jr. as maintenance/custodian at EHS effective June 1.
• Approved Clay Neal, Sloan Hillhouse, Mark Pass, Corey Simmons and Justin Hill as summer workers.
• Approved a request from Special Education Director Gina Sanderson recommending Mary Massey be approved as a long-term substitute teacher for a teacher who will begin school on maternity leave in the upcoming school year.
• Approved a request for two students from the Health Sciences program at the Career and Technology Center to attend a HOSA Leadership Conference in Dallas in June.
• Accepted various financial donations to EHS, EWHS Athletics, EWHS basketball program, EHS softball program and EHS baseball program.
• Accepted CB&S Bank and Bank of Kilmichael as depositories for the 2018-19 fiscal year, based upon the recommendation of Angela Avent-White, business manager.
Cade Adkins from Eupora High and Chase Hays from the WCTCC were recognized as the Webster County Board of Education Students of the Month for March and May, respectively.
Additionally, Jones presented an attendance and discipline report for each school for the school year to date. He also informed the board of changes that will be made to the district’s exemption policy for the next school year, minutes reflect. The board was to also meet June 11 and Thursday.
