Have you ever heard the sound of an airplane and looked up at the tiny dot thousands of feet above and just for a moment thought, “I wonder what it’s like to be a pilot?” Well, now is the time! Whether as a career, hobby or just a means to take your family to faraway places on vacation, that dream can now become a reality right here in Louisville.
Premier Aviation, a flight school run by John, Carol and Cameron Clark, at the Louisville-Winston County Airport is now in operation, and by completing this school, one can become a private, instrument and even a commercial pilot.
John and Cameron are both FAA certified flight instructors and have been instructing in Starkville, Columbus and the surrounding area, and after many inquiries from the local area, they have decided to expand their operation to include Louisville.
The Clarks’ roots in aviation go back many years, as John’s father, Bobby Clark, and his late uncle, Buck Clark, operated Triple C Aviation at the local airport, where they offered flight instruction, charter flights, fire patrol and many other services. Premier Aviation plans to continue that legacy helping others achieve their goals to fly.
To become a licensed private pilot, one must complete a course which consists of a minimum of 40 hours of flight time, plus additional ground instruction. The schedule can be tailored to fit individual needs. Other hurdles along the way consist of Student Pilot status, an FAA written exam and medical requirements.
Premier Aviation offers discovery flights which consist of a 45-minute flight with the client in the pilot’s seat, experiencing just how amazing piloting can be. The Staff at Premier Aviation will stand by your side all the way to completion to make sure you become a well-trained, safe pilot.
