Recently, some inmates at the Winston-Choctaw Regional Correctional Facility gained skills aimed at the life after release.
Dr. Anthony McIntosh along with volunteers and staff at the WCCRCF helped inmates practice properly tieing a tie, practicing answering interview questions and how to prepare for a job interview.
The Pre-Release program helps inmates prepare for job interviews, write cover letters and resumes, fill out job applications as well as practice vocal skills. Thr program also assists with filling out for college financial aid and jobs online.
Dr. Anthony McIntosh serves as the instructor for the Pre-Release program at the Winston - Choctaw County Regional Correctional Facility.
The criteria for Pre-Release Program requires the inmate must be within 18 months of their earliest release date or parole date. The program lasts 12 weeks.
“The objective of this program is to prepare the offenders to return into the free world with skills, encouragement, and a mindset that they may have made a mistake but with God's help, all things are possible,” stated McIntosh.
The inmates in the program went through a Mock Audit on March 13, 2019 to show the skills they have learned and represent how they are working toward release and the challenges in the outside world.
