National Nutrition Month is a nutrition education and information campaign celebrated annually in March by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
The campaign focuses attention on the importance of making informed food choices, and developing sound eating and physical activity habits. The theme for the 2018 National Nutrition Month is “Go Further with Food.”
The theme reminds us that whether we are fueling before an athletic event or starting the day off right with a healthy breakfast, the foods we choose can make a difference. Start making small changes during National Nutrition Month, and continue to make small changes over time, to improve health.
North Mississippi Medical Center-Eupora will be celebrating National Nutrition Month this Thursday with healthy snacks provided to patrons and employees during the noon lunch hour. The members of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics are actively involved in bringing these key messages to the American public:
Eating Right and Staying Fit is important regardless of your age. Help yourself feel better by making healthy food choices and being physically active every day. Eating right does not have to be complicated. Start with these recommendations from the Dietary Guidelines for Americans.
