LOUISVILLE: Born, to Mr. and Mrs. W. C. McGahey, a fine girl on October 25th. - Mr. Edwin Stainten and two little girls of Laurel, are guests of Mr. and Mrs. Griffith. - Miss Sallie May Brasfield left last Friday for Larman, where she will visit her brother, R. O. Brasfield and family for several weeks. - Mrs. W. H. Webster and little daughter of Hattiesburg are visiting in the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Webster. - Mr. and Mrs. Blon Harris and children, and Sherrill Fox spent a most delightful day Sunday, in the home of Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Fox in Macon. - The many friends of Mrs. Mike Lynch will be sorry to learn that she is very sick at her home three miles north of town. - Mrs. T. R. Parks was called to the bedside of her sister, who is quite ill in Laurel, last Wednesday.

The bottom dropped out of the price of cotton last Wednesday evening, the price going down 202 points, meaning over $10 per bale at one sad swipe. It also opened up Thursday morning with a declining tendency, but gained back 100 points, closing at 38 cents last evening.
DEATHS: Mrs. A. F. Stevens, an estimable lady of Plattsburg, died at the home of Mr. J. N. Kelly last Friday. Her remains were laid at rest in Liberty cemetery
MARRIAGES: Miss Lottie Webster surprised her many friends last Thursday evening, Nov. 6, by her marriage to Mr. Arthur Woodworth Fox, at the Baptist Church in West Point. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Webster of this community and the groom is one of Noxubee county’s planters and business men. They will make their home in Macon. - Justice Rodgers Busy: Married, Saturday evening at the home of Mr. A. B. Rodgers, Mr. T. J. Jernegan of Noxubee County and Miss Era Robertson of Clay Town were quietly married. They left immediately for Noxubee county, the groom’s home. - Married at Hickory Grove school house Sunday, Nov. 9th, Mr. E. D. Presley and Miss Minnie May Hill, A. B. Rodgers, J. P. officiating. - Married at Handle, Miss. Sunday afternoon Nov. 9th, Mr. Red McBrayer and Miss Sallie Johnson, A. B. Rodgers officiating. - A quiet marriage was consummated at the home of Miss Kittie McMillin, Monday afternoon, when Rev. J. E. Wills, Pastor, Baptist Church, joined together in holy wedlock Mr. Bess Files and Miss Mary Ellis. This marriage is the culmination of a long courtship, which perhaps was interrupted by the world war, as the gallant groom was called to the colors last year. The bride is the daughter of Mr. Mosh Ellis and the groom is a moral high-toned young man, one of the proprietors of the Church Street Barbershop.

LOUISVILLE: Born, to Mr. and Mrs. Joe Cannon, Nov. 10, a baby daughter named Mary Ann. - Miss Hazel Roberts of Aberdeen is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Roberts. - Friends regret to learn that Mrs. Linda Ragsdale had to be carried to Harrison Hospital in Philadelphia last Sunday. Mrs. Ragsdale is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P. B. Dallis, where she has been residing since the death of her infant daughter and husband recently.
WEDDINGS: On the morning of October 31st, Miss Dane Collins Patterson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Patterson of Louisville, became the bride of Lt. Samuel Mansell Brand, son of Mr. and Mrs. S. E. Brand of Jackson. Dr. J. Moody McDill officiated the ceremony, which took place in the home of the groom’s parents. - Randolph Brantley announces the marriage of his daughter, Miss Betty Brantley, to Harry Barnard Brasch, SpM3/ of Long Beach, Calif., The ceremony was performed by Rev. Storey, June 5th in the Methodist manse in Marian, Ark.
NOXAPATER: Mrs. Edna Young, who has made her home with her daughter in Memphis for several years, visited Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Estes the past week. - Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Webb are having erected in South Town on Highway 15, just across from J. C. Lee home, a handsome two-story house that will be ready for occupancy shortly. - Mrs. Quitman Fant and little son and Mrs. Billie Holloman left Sunday for their home in Houston after visiting with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Wall.
