PERSONAL MENTION: Dr. W. R. Sugg left yesterday for Bellefontaine, where he will be engaged in dental work for the next few days. He will return home Tuesday. - Mr. J. T. Abernathy has accepted a position as traveling representative for the L. Gerstle Drug Co. of Chattanooga and until January 1st will be given South Carolina as a territory, after which date he will be returned to Mississippi. Mr. Abernathy is one of the best drug salesmen on the road and the Chattanooga firm has done well in securing his services. - A large party from this place attended the West Alabama and Mississippi fair at Columbus last Wednesday.

HOHENLINDEN: Mr. W. H. Womack visited his home folks Saturday and Sunday. - Miss Rena May Logan visited in Congress community Sunday. - Mrs. T. E. Hunter, who was called here by her father, Mr. Eben Lucious’s death, is still with her mother. - Mr. H. H. Womack had the sad misfortune to lose one of his best horses while in Eupora last week, the horse dying of blind staggers. - Rev. Thompson filled his regular appointment at Cross Roads Saturday and Sunday. - The Trinity Association meets with the Monte Vista church, seven miles west of Hohenlinden on Oct. 23rd. - Messrs. W. S. Slaughter and W. H. Wright called to see Mr. W. H. Womack while at home Sunday. - An entertainment was given at the home of Mr. S. H. Scott’s Saturday night, which was highly enjoyed by the young people.
TOWN AND COUNTY: Miss Allie Lamb returned Monday from a visit to Maben. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Avent spent Sunday with relatives in Maben. - Mr. J. W. Spencer of Glenlynn community was in town Wednesday. - Mr. J. E. Logah and daughters of Hohenlinden spent Wednesday in town. - Mr. Jno Harvey returned Monday from a brief visit to relatives at Winona and Vaiden. - Mrs. J. K. Armstrong is on a several days visit to her brother, Hon. S. M. Roans at West Point. - Mrs. S. A. Duncan of Columbus is in town on an extended visit to her daughter Mrs. M. W. Sharp. Mrs. Duncan has many friends and relatives in Webster who will be glad to greet here. - Dr. A. H. Bays of Grenada was on a visit to relatives and friends here this week, returning yesterday. Dr. Bays was formerly one of Eupora’s leading physicians and citizens and has scores of friends here who are always glad to see him. - Mr. J. O. Peeples of Ship community, one of the best citizens of Beat # 3, was miugling with his Eupora friends last Monday. Mr. Peeples will, it is understood, be a candidate for tax assessor in next year’s campaign and if elected, Webster county will receive satisfactory service at his hands.
