BELLEFONTAINE: Mr. Tom Mitchell of Walthall is visiting friends and relatives here. - Mr. C. B. Moore of McCain spent Tuesday in town on business. - We regret to note Mr. Barris Wilson is still critically ill. - Mr. E. E. Pittman returned Tuesday from New Orleans, where he accompanied two car loads of cattle, which he disposed of. - Mrs. W. McCain of Indianola was an appreciated visitor to our town Tuesday. - Miss Ada Windham, one of the assistant teachers has returned after an absence of sometime at home on account of the illness of her sister. GLYNLYNN: The holidays were spent quite pleasantly in our community. The Christmas tree on Christmas Eve night at New Hope church was largely attended and seemed to be greatly enjoyed. Rev. A. G. Hicks delivered an excellent address after which the appointed committee took charge of the tree and delivered the many beautiful gifts. The exercise was closed by song and prayer and all returned home with joyful hearts. - Misses Ida and Ethel Hicks of Bellefontaine attended the Christmas tree at New Hope. Miss Ida stayed over until Sunday, visiting Mr. Joel Greggs family. She was accompanied home by Miss Abbie Gregg. - Mr. and Mrs. Ola Cooke accompanied by Miss Ida White, returned to their home in West Point on the 5th inst., after spending the holidays with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. White. - Misses Connie Pryor, Alice Gregg, and Belle Therrell have returned to their respective schools after spending the holidays with their parents. - Mr. Thompson Therrell made a flying trip to the Delta last week, returning Sunday. - Mr. Henry Valentine is visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Valentine. - We are glad to note the improved condition of our sweet little friend, Miss Little Gregg, who has been ill so long. We hope to soon see her walking without the aid of crutches. - Mrs. Will Cannon of Cadaretta visited relatives and friends in our community during the holidays. - We are sorry to note the serious condition of Mr. A. G. Skelton’s little son Joe, who has been afflicted with rheumatism for several months and is now suffering with la grippe. - Mrs. Joel Gregg has received a message bearing the sad news of the death of her sister, Mrs. William Lamb, of Boggy, Tex., which occurred on the 1st inst. Mrs. Lamb was for many years a citizen of Webster county and her many friends here will deeply regret this sad event. WALTHALL: Miss Jimmie Courtney of Hohenlinden is visiting her sister, Mrs. J. R. Taylor this week. - Miss Viva Cook left Sunday for Covington county, where she has accepted a school. - We regret to note the illness of Mr. J. R. Taylor’s baby this week. - Miss Jodie Finch of Spring Creek was a pleasant visitor in town Sunday. - Misses Nancy Oliver and Bulah Avent made a business trip to Eupora Tuesday. - Mr. Bill Taylor of Eupora was in town the first of the week on business.
