Jovial M. Ridgway of Stewart was in town Monday. Mack never lets a wave of trouble roll across his peaceful breast. - S. A. “Dock” Crow of the Crowsville office was in town Saturday and handed in his name and cash in advance for the RECORD. Another good man gone right. - Dr. Joe M. Kellum was in town Monday in his usual good spirits. Dr. Kellum has by dint of industry and hard study won his place in the front rank of physicians and is there to stay.

Capt. Joe B. Dunn, for eight years Chancery Clerk of Choctaw county, and one of Choctaw’s former foremost citizens, died at his home in Eupora a few days ago, aged about 75 years, mourned by a wide circle of friends.

Married at the residence of Mr. Isaac Lowery, near Chester, at 10 a.m. Sunday, April 1st by Rev. W. L. Anderson, Mr. W. K. Moss and Miss Adie Lowery were happily united in the holy bonds of wedlock. We extend to them hearty congratulations and bespeak for them a successful career. Happiness to them.

Hon. J. P. Patterson, the efficient and popular supervisor from Beat Three, paid cash in advance for the RECORD this week for another year.
This is another evidence of the fact that Mr. Patterson is one of the most sensible men in Choctaw. A few years ago Jim Patterson was a renter, today he owns six hundred acres of land. When it comes down to hard common sense he is hard to knock out. Mr. Patterson makes one of the best supervisors any county ever had.
The April examinations for teachers will be held as follows: At Chester, for white, April 6 and 7; for black, April 13 and 14. At Ackerman, for white, April 20 and 21; for black, April 27 and 28. Examinations will open promptly at 8 o’clock. Respectfully, A. Graves, Sup’t.
