NEWS FROM LONG AGO

Hon. Jeff Busby of Houston, Miss. will be a candidate for Congress - To the people of Choctaw County: While it is a little early to make my formal announcement, I wish to say that I will be a candidate for Congress in the 4th District in the coming August primaries. I made the race for this office two years ago. Although I did not receive the nomination, the splendid vote given me throughout the District was gratifying to my friends. Especially was this true of my home (Chickasaw) county, where I received 964 votes to 555 for our present Congressman. He carried his home (Montgomery) county by only 209 majority. Then, too, I made many acquaintances and friends throughout the District who, since my home people have so overwhelmingly expressed their confidence in me, will enter the race with me from the beginning. I expect to enter the campaign early and carry it to every part of the District, and discuss the issues to the people. In the meantime any kindness or suggestion from my friends will be appreciated. Your friend, Jeff Busby.
