December 5, 1918
EUPORA: Mary Ward, William and Alanson Dunn are among the sick with the Flu this week. - We are glad to see Bro. O. C. Cooper on the streets again after several days’ illness with Influenza. - Mrs. O. M. Hering passed through here last week in route to her new home at Artesia and stopped off and visited her sister, Mrs. C. A. Lamb last week. - 216 boys arrived at Camp Shelby last Sunday. They were sent there from Camp Merritt to be mustered out. Among them were Pvts. Pet Hightower, V. I. King, and Albert Hood of Eupora.

WALTHALL: There was no religious service here last Sunday on account of the Flu. - Mr. W. A. Love and family spent Saturday night and Sunday with S. F. Adams and family. - A telegram was received a few days ago from the War Department announcing the death of Mr. Jerome Lovett. He died of wounds received in action.
EMBRY: Mrs. Henry Hitt was called to Springhill Wednesday on account of the death of her mother-in-law, Mrs. Weir. - Mrs. Etoile Hemphill visited her mother here Sunday. - Mrs. Cedell McPhail is very ill. - Miss Adell Mitchell has been very sick in Influenza but is much better now.
EUPORA: Messrs. Pet Hightower, V. I. King, and Albert G. Hood are some of our soldier boys to get home this week to stay. - Sgt. Jim Embry was here a few days this week to see friends and home-folks. - Miss Lois Allen of Oak Grove, La. is visiting her aunt, Mrs. F. McKeigney this week. - Whittie Castle and Tom Finch are at home from the A & M. - We are glad to hear that Mrs. T. L. Lamb is improving after an attack of Flu. - Mrs. Eliga McCain happened to the accident of falling last Saturday morning, and was hurt very badly, her children, Mrs. White of Slate Spring and Mrs. Duke of McCaintown have been at her bedside this week.

WALTHALL: Mr. Charley Earnest, Jr. of Route 1 is very sick with Flu and Pneumonia. - We welcome to our village Mr. A. G. Morgan and family. They are in the Middleton house. - Mr. Hermon Lang of Eupora was here on our street last Sunday. He is one of our return soldiers.
Mrs. Mattie Hubbard, 42, wife of Jack Hubbard of Eupora, died Dec. 16th and was buried in the Mt. Zion cemetery the next day, the services being conducted by Rev. H. M. Young of Eupora Methodist church. She leaves her husband and seven children to mourn their loss.
Mrs. Mary Conley, wife of Mr. Owen Conley of Sapa, after several months’ illness died Saturday and was buried Sunday at Long Branch.
