Jackson, Miss.— As of 8 a.m. Monday, Nov. 4; 58,070 Mississippians have requested absentee ballots for the upcoming November 5 General Election, and 51,318 absentee ballots have been received back to the Circuit Clerks’ Offices.
More than 1.9 million Mississippians are registered to vote in the upcoming election. Census data estimates the State’s eligible voting age population to be about 2.2 million.
Circuit Clerks’ Offices had to be in receipt of absentee ballots returned by mail by 5 p.m. Monday. For military and overseas voters, absentee ballots must have been received by 7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 5.
Polls were open on Election Day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
