The Choctaw County Medical Foundation (CCMF) will be holding its annual meeting on Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at 6 p.m. in the Community Center. The CCMF is a non-profit foundation that raises and disburses funds for the purpose of enhancing healthcare in Choctaw County. It originated in 2010 and has already been a positive influence. Dues and donations to the Foundation are tax deductible.
During the annual meeting on May 1st, the Foundation will update the group on projects completed in 2017, including the latest plans for the landscaped/gardening area for the Choctaw Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Attendees will be able to view the proposed design generated by Holmes Community College and learn about why this project is important not only to the residents but also our community.
Ms. Leigh Ann Cobb, Administrator at the Center, will present details related to the landscape project during the Annual Meeting. She will also give an update about the new facility expansion, which will include a video tour. This expansion was completed in 2018 and added 10-15 new jobs. The expansion project encompassed a renovation of the former Choctaw County Hospital and upgrades to the facility’s emergency generator system.
The CNRC expansion includes 10 new private resident rooms with private bathrooms, 2 Comfort Care Hospice suites, several new office spaces, a Chapel, a spacious therapy gym, and employee breakroom, a large conference room, and a delightful day room for the residents to enjoy. The expansion ribbon cutting was held on February 15, 2018.
“We are excited to begin using this new wing to continue offering superior long-term healthcare services here in Choctaw County,” Cobb stated.
New board members will be nominated. Fabulous door prizes and delicious refreshments will be provided.
Membership in the Choctaw County Medical Foundation is only $25 per person and $100 per business.
“There are some exciting positive things happening,” Foundation Board President Mike Pearson said. “Dues/donations help the Foundation continue to make an impact on healthcare in Choctaw County.”
