24 year old Earnest Williamson died Monday, April 9 in a car accident near Liberty Road in Winston County on MS Hwy 25.
Mississippi Highway Patrol was dispatched to the fatal crash on MS 25 at Liberty road Monday morning around 6AM. A 2015 Peterbuilt log truck was traveling north on MS 25 when it collided with a 2007 Jeep Sahara coming off of Liberty Rd. attempting to cross over the north bound lanes of the HWY.
After impact the log truck lost it’s load shutting down the north bound lanes approximately 4 hours.
The driver of the Jeep, 24 year old Earnest Williamson III was pronounced dead at the scene by the Winston County Coroner.
The driver of the Peterbuilt, 34 year old Jose Luis Coyt of Philadelphia, MS was transported to UMC in Jackson with moderate injuries.
This accident remains under investigation by MHP.
