Kristian Hopkins and Derius Hopkins of Louisville recently served as pages for the Mississippi House of Representatives. Pages generally run errands for officials and House staff.
Kristian, 17, and Derius, 18, are the sons of Cylesha and Derek Hopkins. They attend Louisville High School and were sponsored for the week by Representative Carl Mickens (D-Noxubee).
“I am very grateful to Representative Mickens for allowing me to have this opportunity,” said Kristian when asked about his experience. “I really enjoyed my time at the Capitol. I learned a lot about the Mississippi House of Representatives.”
“I would like to say thank you to Representative Mickens for inviting us to have this experience,” said Derius. “I learned a lot of important things this week like how a bill becomes law. I really enjoyed myself this week at the Capitol and would recommend paging to anyone who is interested!”
