There was lots of fun to be had on Halloween night at the Community Wide Trunk or Treat at Louisville Coliseum, and just up the hill at the first ever Creepy Carnival held at the Ivy Park Activity Center.
This was the fifth annual Trunk or Treat and the numbers remained high with about eleven-hundred and fifty kids attending, according to Louisville Fire Dept. Deputy Chief Robert Hutto. A number of response agencies were involved including LFD, Highpoint VFD, Shiloh VFD, East Winston VFD, Patient Care EMS, Louisville Police Dept., Louisville-Winston E-911, Winston Sheriff’s Dept., Mississippi Game & Fish, and EMEPA. Members of First Baptist Church and Scott Gregory were handing out goodies as well.
The Creepy Carnival was held as a fundraiser by the Louisville Wildcats Athletic Boosters, with an admission fee of five dollars. The carnival featured a 3-legged man, a bearded lady, a misfortune teller, magic tricks gone wrong and much more. According to Angela McCullough 160 people enjoyed the creepy delights, and the Boosters raised $800 which will go to benefit all of the LHS athletic programs.
