Five Choctaw County youth attended 4-H Club Congress at MSU May 30 through June 1.
Hundreds of 4-H’ers from all over Mississippi competed in contests, gave speeches, presented visual presentations, and attended workshops. Three of Choctaw County’s youth attended “Don’t Text/Drink and Drive” workshop where they put on “drunk” goggles and drove a golf cart through an obstacle course. After visiting the Entomology Department’s “Zoo”, Isabella even held a tarantula.
On Wednesday night, all youth attended the Mississippi Showdown at MSU’s Sanderson Center where they played basketball, volleyball, games and attempted the rock climbing wall. Thursday’s nights activity was a dance in the Union ballroom. The awards program was held Friday morning. 4-H Volunteer Jennifer Juarez attended as a chaperone. 4-H’ers from Choctaw County were:
