The Louisville Municipal School District Board of Trustees took the opportunity to recognize Parents of the Year, at their meeting on Thursday, March 22. Parents were chosen from each of the six public schools in Winston County and presented with a plaque honoring their work and dedication to the schools and the students. Recipients were: Fair Elementary, Rachel Lyons; Louisville Elementary, Romeka Smith; Eiland Middle, Katie Ainsworth; Louisville High, Tracy Fairley; Nanih Waiya, Christie Stokes; Noxapater, Ashley Stone. Katie Ainsworth was also recognized as District Parent of the Year.
In other action, the Board:
•?Unanimously approved the consent agenda, except for one personnel item which was moved to executive session. The consent agenda included:

•? Overhead transparency projector bought with EEF funds donated by LaDonna Hunter.

•? Approval for Jacqueline Norton, teacher substitute, and Jeanette Triplett, janitorial substitute, to be added to the substitute list.

•?Approval for Shane Davis and Alfreda Yarbrough to tutor employees in the district who have not passed Praxis 1 to get their teaching license, at the rate of $30/hour.
•?Heard the At Risk Action Plan from Fair Elementary Principal, LeAnn Boswell.
•?Unanimously approved Claims Dockets #322925-#323224, and February 2018 Activity/Agency fund checks.
•?Unanimously approved the February 2018 bank balances and financial reports.
•?Unanimously approved the transfer of the following students from LMSD to Starkville Oktibbeha Consolidated School District (parent works in Starkville District): Madison Hicks and Fletcher Mercer.
