Over 30 cases were handled in the April Circuit Court term with several judgements handed down several continuances scheduled.
April Circuit Court term in Winston County included:
• Darius Watson was charged with five counts of Burglary of a Building Dwelling and sentenced to 7 years with 2 years to serve and 5 years probation. Of the charges count II, III, IV, V with 7 years each count, with 2 years to serve to run concurrently with count I to pay restitution in counts I, III, and IV.
•Cedric Deon Clark was charged with on count 1 with Trafficking Marijuana and on count 2 with Possession of a Firearm by a Felon and was sentenced for 18 years on count 1 with charges dismissed on count 2.
• Devain Holmes was charged with building burglary, habitual offender. the burglary charge resulted in a sentencing of 7 years, with 3 years to serve and Pay restitution of $1,250 with Habitual offender charge dismissed,.
• Kayla Pratt was charged with embezzlement and sentenced to non-adjudicated suspended probation for 4 years, pay restitution of $5,000, $500 to MS Crime Victims Compensation Fund.
• Dennis Phillips was charged with one count of Possession of Cocaine and on the second count of Possession of Firearm by Felon and sentenced to serve 3 years on the first count with count 2 dismissed.
Continuances and other actions:
• Darrell Duchea Purifoy, Jr. who was charged with armed robbery and sentenced to a Mental Evaluation.
• Bennie F. Rockingham, Jr. was charged with One Count of Forcible Rape and Count II of Kidnapping recommended for Committal by the Chancery.
• Jimmie Lee Miller was charged with One count: Transfer of Marijuana and count 2 of Sale of Marijuana with a Bench Warrant issued and his Bond Surrendered.
• Johnnie Snow was charged with Possession of Methamphetamines and transferred to Non-adudication Drug Court.
• Margaret Morris was charged with false representation of controlled substance and remanded to file until completion of drug court.
• Margaret Larose Morris was charged with Motor Vehicle and remanded to file until completion of Drug Court.
• Robert Thomas Keene was charged with acquiring or obtaining controlled substance by misrepresentation and his case was continued.
• Willie B. Miller was charged with Grand Larceny and his case was continued.
• Adam Luke Nowell was charged with on count 1 with Kidnapping, on count 2 with Sexual Battery, and on count 3 with Forcible Rape and case has been continued.
• Isaih Malik Riggins was charged with First Degree Murder and his case has been continued.
•Dennis Phillips was charged with CT. I: Possession of Cocaine and CT. II: Possession of a Firearm by Felon and case dismissed due to re-indictment in Cause No. 2019-011-CR.
• Tiuntae Dixon, Precious K. Berry, and Jasmine R. Nelson were charged with furnishing contraband in facility and with the case continued.
• Fred Lee Eiland was charged with CT. I and II: Capital Murder and CT. III and IV: Aggravated Assault and recommend for a Mental Evaluation and case continued.
• John Thomas Carnes was charged with burglary of dwelling house and a Bench Warrant was issued.
• Dylan Tabor was charged with Felony Malicious Mischief and sentenced Order of non-adjudicated suspended probation for 5 years with order to pay restitution.
• Jason Eaves was charged with Felony Malicious Mischief and sentenced Order of Non-Adjudicated suspended probation for 5 years and to Pay restitution.
• Andres Galvan was charged with CT. I: First Degree Murder and CT. II: Kidnapping and case was continued.
• Raquel Olajuwon Graham was charged with Possession of Marijuana and sentenced to 90 days in the Winston County Correctional Facility and fined $250.
• Susan Darby was charged with embezzlement and case has been continued.
• Jimmy Henley was charged with felony shoplifting and a Bench Warrant was issued.
• Bradly L. Ivy was charged with burglary of a dwelling house with case continued.
• Deunte Arkell Hoskins was charged with Possession of Cocaine and case was continued.
• Christian G. Mendez was charged with statutory rape and case was continued with an ICE hold placed on him.
• Tyzarious Harrison was charged with CT. I: Aggravated Assault and CT. II: Possession of a stolen firearm and case was continued.
Under non-adjudicated cases, the defendant completes Pre-trial Diversion, the case is closed and the defendant is eligible to petition the court to expunge the felony arrest.

Circuit Court and Clerk presented with report of the Grand Jury
The grand jurors of Winston County in session for one day, investigated 21 reported violations of law, and have questioned 14 witnesses, after which we have returned into open court 14 true bills recorded on ten indictments, four cases were no billed, two cases were continued for further investigation, one case remanded to the lower court.
The Grand Jury also inspected the Winston County Courthouse, Winston County Annex Building,
and Winston County Correctional Facility and reported:
WINSTON COUNTY COURTHOUSE
Tax Assessor's office molding and baseboards need to be replaced and the office needs
more storage. Circuit Clerk's office has broken glass on a desk and cabinet in foyer needs to
be repainted. Sheriff Department has a ceiling tile that needs to be replaced. There are
exposed wires and a light out in the upstairs stairway foyer. Board of Supervisors office has
mold on the ceiling vent. Election Commissioners office needs exit signs and fire extinguishers.
Men's restroom upstairs light is not working.
WINSTON COUNTY JAIL
The jail sufficient for the safekeeping of a limited number of prisoners. There
is a cracked window at main entrance at 201. There is a broken tile at 209 entrance. There was
spilled water outside of zone.
