A full house turned out for the Ivan Parker concert the night of Nov. 1 at Crossway Church on Highway 9 South in Eupora.
Crossway Church, pastored by Chris Ray and Associate Pastor Brandon Cole, had planned and promoted this event for weeks.
Ivan Parker was born in Sanford, N.C., on Dec. 21,1957, and was saved in his father’s church in Sanford at the age of 9. He says he has made mistakes along the way, but always knew God had his hand on him.
At an early age, he did not know what he wanted to do, but says he knew he wanted to sing. Several of his songs, such as “Midnight Cry” and others, have made it to the top of the list in Singing News.
His son Josh performed with him, playing his guitar, which everyone enjoyed.
Near the end of the concert, which a large number of veterans attended, Ivan recognized all the veterans present with one of his last songs.
