2020 is shaping up as a big year for property development along the U.S. Hwy. 82 corridor.
The western 60 acres of the Eupora Industrial Park will have water and sewer lines extended into the property. The city of Eupora is installing a new well and main water line to increase capacity. The water line being extended into the Industrial Park will be a direct serve off the new water main.
An industrial access road will be installed into the site. This new road will allow for direct access from U.S. Hwy. 82.
Natchez Trace Electric Power Association serves the Eupora Industrial Park and has a substation located east of the park with a large load capacity available.
The Eupora Industrial Park is an AT&T Certified Fiber Ready Industrial Park. Atmos Energy currently serves the park with natural gas.
Over $1 million in federal, state and local funds have been secured to make these improvements to the Industrial Park. The Enterprise will continue to seek funding in 2020 to complete the site work needed to market the property as "shovel ready."
Special thanks to the Eupora Board of Aldermen for their support in seeking grants and funding along with state Rep. Joey Hood for helping to secure state funding. The Appalachian Regional Commission is providing funding for the water and sewer line extensions.

Brown Wood qualified for the incentive payment through TVA's EnergyRight program. The company has completed a project that added a new kiln. The kiln, which can dry nearly 1,000 poles at a time, will add about 1.8 million kilowatt hours annually in use.
1st welding class completed in Webster County
Holmes Community College held the first gas metal arc welding class at the Webster County Career and Technology Center in October. This class was made possible through an Appalachian Regional Commission EMPOWER grant.
The grant purchased new welding equipment for high school students to train on during the day and adults in the evenings. Paul Orr, who instructed the class, also teaches the Ag Power Machinery classes at WCCTC.
At the Choctaw County Career and Technical Center, industry has been training their employees at night on hydraulics. The hydraulic/PLC trainers were identified as training equipment needed by industry and purchased through the ARC EMPOWER grant.
Industry-specific training classes and classes open to the general public are already planned for 2020 in Choctaw and Webster counties. If you would like to be notified about these classes email Katie@TheEnterpriseMS.com or call 662-546-0075
