Robin Mixon. administrator at North Mississippi Medical Center-Eupora, spoke to the JOY Club at First Baptist Church on June 25.
Mrs. Mixon spoke about the recent award of NMMC-Eupora. It was awarded 2019 Outstanding Mississippi Small Rural Hospital from the Mississippi Hospital Association.
NMMC-Eupora is improving the health of its community through telemedicine. This service allows area residents access to services they would normally have to drive to Tupelo or other large cities to receive.
Not only are telehealth appointments convenient for patients, but telehealth utilization reduces unnecessary medical transfer cost, patient transportation cost, anxiety and discomfort associated with long trips and wait times.
She encouraged us to call the hospital for more information at 258-6221. Additionally, she urged community members to volunteer at the hospital.
