Pastor Anthony McIntosh recently organized a community forum on gun violence in the community.
After eulogizing 2 of the 3 young men killed by gun violence in the local communities, Pastor Macintosh felt the community needed to come together to discuss the problem and hopefully find some solutions.
A Community Forum on gun violence was held at the MOBH BUILDING on Armstrong Street. About 100 community members attended the event. The discussions started with the focus on the three teenagers from the community lost to gun violence. Tylan Glenn, Malik Miller and Kelsey Ingram were killed in shootings during the past year. Each of them were from Winston County and under the age of 20.
"I'm tired of burying young black men at an age like this," said McIntosh. "All of these children had great potential," McIntosh said. "We don't know what we lost in those young men, so we don't want to lose any more of them."
Attendees and organizers discussed realistic solutions for teens in the community for a place to go and be involved in. Featured speakers were Nick Frazier, Pastor Dennis Jackson, Ken Jernigan and Pastor McIntosh.
