Grace Christian split two games last week, losing to Columbus Christian 11-10 and defeating Scott County Home School 11-1.
“We are 5-2. Both losses were by one run,” said coach Ralph Goss. “We're playing well to have lost six players from last year and five of them were starters. We have a lot of new faces and we're getting better. Right now, we are pleased.”
Grace Christian led Columbus Christian 7-3, but errors and walks allowed Columbus to catch up and win the game with a run in the eighth.
Elijah Caudill, Isaac Miller and Wes Agnew had two hits each for the Eagles. Caudill drove in three runs and scored one with a single and a triple, Miller scored twice and drove in a run and Agnew scored a run and had a stolen base.
Alex Taylor pitched a two-hitter game against Scott County Home Schools, with eighth strikeouts. He also was three for three, with three RBIs and two runs scored. Agnew, Clay Crowder and Grant Bontrager all had two hits.
Grace Christian were to play New Summit from Jackson Tuesday. The Eagles have home games Thursday against Columbus Christian and Saturday against Meridian Home School.
