Drew Richardson of Eupora has been awarded a $900 Walter Johnson Memorial Scholarship Award from the Tennessee Grocers Education Foundation.
Richardson is the child of Kyle Richardson, an employee of Associated Wholesale Grocers, a TGCSA member company.
A graduate of Eupora High School, Richardson will attend Mississippi State University and major in communication.
“We are so proud of Drew and all of our scholarship recipients,” said Rob Ikard, TGCSA president. “These awards represent an investment in what makes Tennessee’s food industry work: its people.”
The Tennessee Grocers Education Foundation presented 113 scholarships this year valued at $122,900 to students in the food industry. Eligible recipients are either employed by a TGCSA member company or have parents who are full-time employees of a TGCSA member company.
