Louisville-Winston County Airport Board President, Mike Forster, addressed the Louisville Board of Aldermen during their regular meeting on Tuesday, May 21, to inform them that the Airport has been awarded $4.2M in an FAA grant. He added that each year the Airport received $150K in Airport Entitlement Funds, which they will continue to receive. The grant amounts to 28 years’ worth of Entitlement Funds, and will fund several projects, including lengthening the south end of the runway. Additionally, this grant requires no matching funds from the City or Winston County. (See page 1 of today’s edition for full article.)
In other action, the Board:
• Voted 5-0 to authorize payment to Clearwater Consultants for two invoices totaling in the amount $30K, for the 2019 AIP Grant.
• Voted 5-0 to authorize payment of $84K for semi-annual payment on the Grant Anticipation Not.
• Voted 5-0 to hire James Humphries as a part-time employee of the Recreation Dept.
The Louisville Board of Aldermen meets monthly on the first and third Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. with their next scheduled meeting on June 4.
