What a beautiful Sunday. Great to be back in the house of God.
Luke 8: “Radical Faith.” The woman with the issue of blood had to have radical faith to get to Jesus, just to touch the hem of his garment.
She, being unclean, presses through the crowd. Even though she could have faced serious consequences, she pressed her way through.
She had tried everything. She knew if she could just touch him she would be made whole. She had heard all things that had been going on everywhere Jesus went. So she believed God and pressed through.
Jesus felt the virtue go out, “Who touched me?” Then they found her and Jesus said, “Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.”
1 Kings 18:38: Elijah had radical faith to stand up against all those false prophets of Baal and those that sat at Jezebel’s table. Elijah took a challenge to prove who was God — the first to call down fire from heaven.
So by faith Elijah prayed to God, and God answered him by fire. Elijah prayed for rain and began to run. He had radical faith, that faith that moves mountains.
Church, we must trust God and walk in obedience. God hears and answers with blessings and answered prayers. Church, we must pray and believe God still answers prayers. So just pray. The book of James teaches us how to live by faith in obedience to God.
We had a wonderful service on our second Sunday night service. We took Holy Communion. What a wonderful experience to worship and remember what the Lord has done for us by being obedient to his word.
God bless you all and have a great week. See you all next Sunday.
