The Eupora Eagles got two standout pitching performances this past week in a pair of shutout wins over Winona.
The Eagles got 29 strikeouts in two games as the Eagles beat Winona 3-0 on Monday and 5-0 on Friday. In between division games, Eupora lost 13-0 to Starkville Academy.
Eupora, now 8-12 on the season, will travel to Noxapater on Monday and will host Leflore County on Tuesday in a doubleheader, starting at 4 p.m. The Eagles will finish fourth in Division 2-2A.

The Eagles got a standout pitching performance from Tanner Knight in a shutout win over the Tigers on Monday.
Eupora scored two runs in the third inning and added an insurance run in the seventh.
The Eagles had just four hits in the contest but drew six walks. Tanner Knight was 2-for-3 with a triple and one RBI while Brett May had a double and drove in a run. Jacob Collum had Eupora’s other hits. Al Dumas drew four walks, stole two bases and scored twice. Knight also had two stolen bases.
Knight was dominant on the mound as he pitched all seven innings, scattering five hits while striking out 16.
Starkville Academy 13,

The Eagles only managed three hits as visiting Starkville Academy took a six-inning, run-rule victory on Thursday.
Starkville jumped out to a quick start, scoring three in the first, four in the second and one in the third for an 8-0 lead. The Volunteers finished off the game with five runs in the sixth inning.
Al Dumas, Jacob Collum and Parker Knight had Eupora’s hits.
The Eagles used four pitchers as Cade Adkins and Parker Knight each pitched 2/3 of an inning. Tanner Fletcher pitched 1 1/3 of an inning and Al Dumas pitched the last 3 1/3 innings.

The Eagles got another solid pitching performance from Brett May in a three-hit shutout over the Tigers on Friday.
Eupora scored two runs in the first and sixth innings and one in the third.
Eupora had six hits in the contest as Brett May went 3-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs. Al dumas had a double, scored a run and drove in a rune while Tanner Knight singled and drove in a run. Parker Knight singles and scored while Ty Murphy walked and scored.
May pitched all seven innings as he gave up three hits and struck out 13 for the win.
