The Choctaw County Library System is excited to announce the opening of the Ackerman Library on May 7, 2018.
The Choctaw County Library in Ackerman is no longer under management of the Tombigbee Library System and now operates independently to Choctaw County.
The library has new, expanded hours and is open six days a week: Mondays from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m., Tuesdays from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m., Wednesdays from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., Thursdays from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m., Fridays from 9 p.m. – 6 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
The Choctaw County Library System Board of Trustees invites you to stop by the library and meet the staff: Library Director Cristin Reed Henson of Ackerman and Library Assistant Lara Taylor of Ackerman. The library staff is actively working to serve the citizens of Choctaw County and surrounding areas through book, DVD, and audiobook circulation, public-use computers, and library programs set to begin in June.
Choctaw County Library in Ackerman will have a Grand Opening on Friday, June 1, 2018. Details of the event will be announced soon and will include fun activities for all ages.
Pre-School Storytime at Library
Choctaw County Library in Ackerman is hosting Pre-School Storytime every Tuesday morning at 10:30 a.m. We will read a story and make a craft. This storytime is tailored to ages 0-5, but all ages are welcome.
Classic Movie Day at Library
A Classic Movie Day will be held at Choctaw County Library in Ackerman May 24 at 2:30 p.m. The library will present "Singing In The Rain". Popcorn will be provided, please bring your own drinks.
Summer Program
The annual Summer Reading Program “Libraries Rock!” will run weekly through June and July.
They have many more events planned and are looking forward to a busy summer season.
