March 20-April 1:
Wednesday started out with a cancelation , but those Leslies always have a plan.
That afternoon was our favorite, bingo. We had some sweet girls from Legacy Hospice. I think their names were Lillie and Jessica. They brought us our bingo prizes, some nice potted plants to put in our rooms. We thank them very much.
Our Bible class with Mathiston Baptist is always enjoyable and informative. Ms. Anne Cole teaches it that way; she definitely has a way of helping you understand the Bible easier.
The Heavenly Highway Singers were missing one so we asked Mrs. Poss to sing. She was hesitant, but was up for the challenge on such short notice. She did a fine job.
Friday was our Trip Around the World Day and we went to “Hawaii,” so that afternoon we got to eat some food they eat in Hawaii. Do you know what it is? Spam. I remember eating it during World War II and after. It was good, tasty and cheap! It was and still is salty!!
Saturday Potters House of Prayer came in and sang for us. Almost had a room full. Sunday at church with Bro. Hill we had over 20 people; that is the biggest it’s been in awhile. Everyone must be getting over their sicknesses. That afternoon it was even bigger; the number was over 30. First time that happened in a while on a Sunday.
On Monday we made doctor gifts for all the doctors for Doctors Day! We tried not to eat all the candy as we packed bags. The Spring Valley Singers came in that afternoon, and Sandra and Pam helped out.
We had a special guest this week. Melvin Mordecai from Halcyon Hospice came and entertained us for our Spring Fling. We danced the day away and had Coke floats.
Nurses and staff were dancing with us. Volunteer Sandra Turner joined in and then the staff started line dancing. They definitely showed us a new dance style. We loved it!
