Firefighters from three departments in Winston County extinguished a mobile home fire Sunday evening December 31.
East Winston Volunteer Fire Department answered a call to a mobile home at 30055 Hwy 14 East Sunday evening. Upon their arrival flames had engulfed the center and back portion of the home.
Natalie and Derrick Stewart and their two children Makaela and Nick escaped without injury but the home was a total loss along with the residents' belongings.
An account has been setup at Citizen’s Bank in Louisville to help the family recover.
“We did it once and now we will do it again. God brought us through the first storm and He is gonna bring us through this fire. We want to thank the people of Winston county for the amazing love they have shown to my family. We wouldn’t want to live anywhere else but here in Winston County. These people are absolutely amazing,” said Natalie Stewart.
The Stewart family moved to the Hwy 14 location after losing their house in Louisville in the 2014 tornado.
The Betheden Volunteer Fire Department and Louisville Fire Department assisted in putting out the blaze.
The investigation into the cause of the fire is still underway.
