The Controllers Generation II and III 4-H Clubs hosted the eighth annual MLK Day Parade in correlation with Maben Mayor Health Council, area churches and organizations on Jan. 20.
The service was held at St. Stephen U.M. Church in Maben. Music was rendered by the Controllers 4-H Clubs choir, and the guest gospel groups were Hand Picked by God and the Bells of Joy.
Gary Jones served as master of ceremony for the eighth year as well as the occasion. Pastor Nelson Forrest was the speaker. Harvey Jones received the John Jones Humanitarian Award.
The club also attended the MLK Day Breakfast at Mississippi State, completed their service projects at the King Center park and concluded with service at Starkville Manor, where club members and volunteers completed puzzles with residents before the parade.
