If someone had attended a recent Controllers II and III workshop, they may have thought the club was going wild. Wild animal furs were all over the room – squirrels, raccoons, skunks —you name it.
Dr. Leslie Burger, assistant Extension professor, wildlife, fisheries and aquaculture at Mississippi State University, excited members, volunteers, and parents with three tables filled with wildlife animals furs.
So many questions were asked and Dr. Burger had all the answers. She also incorporated some art into the workshop. Paw prints were provided and wildlife pieces were created.
Arianna Graham, a member of the Controllers II 4- H, said, “I have never seen and heard about so many different animals.”
Landon Brooks, a member of the Controllers III 4- H, said, “I am ready to go hunting since I found out so much information today.”
Plans are in progress for members and adults to attend other workshops related to wildlife conservation. For more information, contact 662-242-7962.
