Plans are underway for the second annual Choctaw County Health Expo to be held Saturday, June 2 on the Choctaw Regional Medical Center campus. This fun, family-friendly event offers something for everyone – health and safety information, food, entertainment and classic cars – to name a few.
Events will kick off with a car show hosted by The Choctaw County Cruisers. Registration for the car show will begin at 8 a.m. With over 50 participants in last year’s car show, this event is expected to bring many classic cars and motorcycles to campus for the public to view.
New this year will be the Safety Zone, which will feature information on ATV, water, car seat and firearm safety. There will also be presentations on sports injury prevention, concussion prevention and chemical hazards.
Visitors will have free access to important health screenings and information from health care vendors at the Health Expo. Everyone is encouraged to come by and learn about the numerous health resources offered in and around Choctaw County.
Full Circle Party Band will be entertaining the crowd with great music, Chester Baptist Youth will be providing face painting, Kona Ice will offer sno-cones and other vendors will be on site, as well. All vendor booths will be open from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Hamburger and hot dog plates will be available for purchase for $5 in the CRMC Dining Room beginning at 10:30 a.m. and the net proceeds will benefit The Choctaw County Medical Foundation, a non-profit foundation that raises and disburses funds for the purpose of enhancing healthcare in Choctaw County.
The Choctaw County Medical Foundation will have a booth with information on the organization and opportunities to join the Foundation.
The 20th Century Club will host bingo in the hospital dining room on Friday, June 1 at 6 p.m. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. This is the group’s largest fundraiser for the year and they always have great prizes and a huge turnout is expected.
Everyone is encouraged to come out and be a part of the 2018 Choctaw County Health Expo. This great annual event offers something for the entire family.
