“Asleep in the Stable” was the story for Friday at the Maben Public Library.
This story is about animals that are asleep in the stable at Christmas when the Baby Jesus was born. All of the animals were asleep except for Mama Owl and her baby owls.
When the baby owls woke up, they saw the baby, his mother and earthly father, and were curious about him. They wanted to know how he got there and where his feathers were.
Mama Owl told her babies that he came from the Heavenly Father and God’s love would keep him warm instead of feathers.
Baby Owl gazed at the Holy Child, who was covered with the warmth of God’s love, not feathers, and thought of Baby Jesus whoooo came as a baby just like him.
The children enjoyed making Christmas cards and singing “Jingle Bells” with bell bracelets and “The Reindeer Pokey.” We also had a fun birthday party for Harper Gore, who is 2.
Friday we had Aiden, Nathan and Courtney Scerbak; Lilli Cate Anderson; Marilyn and Mari-Todd Brown; Tripp, Welles and Chelsey Fouche; Adelyn and John Wyatt, Ansley and Brittany Parker; Kinsley and Jace Dodd; Kinsley Reed; Lydia, Mason and Marylea Thornton; Kaylyn Davis and Patricia Pilkington; and Harper, Ally and Savannah Gore.
