Maben Library holds Halloween Parade

The Maben Public Libraryís Halloween Parade on Oct. 25 was a hit! The businesses in Maben are always really great to participate in this for me. We had Roots Hair Salon, Maben Auto Parts, Friendly Florist, Waddell Insurance Investments and the Maben Post office participating this year.

Joe H. Morehead Post 3806 Veterans of Foreign Wars and Auxiliary held a vigil Sept. 19 to remember American service members who were held as prisoners of war or who remain missing in action. Sept. 20 was National POW/MIA Recognition Day. The program included a candle lighting ceremony and address by Vietnam War veteran Billy Carpenter.

Wolverines overtake Belmont , face Humphrey County tonight

A page was turned for East Webster as the playoffs began on Friday night. The Wolverines finished off a strong regular season with just one loss, but itís win or go home time now. Belmont was the first on the docket in round one, but the Cardinals were no problem for the home team as EWHS ran off a 48-6 blowout win.
