NATIONAL SUMMARY
Thunderstorms with heavy rainfall will affect a zone from
the eastern mountains of Tennessee and western North
Carolina to all of South Carolina, eastern Georgia and
northern Florida with the risk of flooding tomorrow. Farther
north and west, thunderstorms are also expected to rumble in
Kentucky, Tennessee, eastern Arkansas, northeastern
Louisiana and northern Mississippi, but the flood threat
will be lower. A zone of showers will stretch along a cold
front from northern Michigan southwestward to Kansas.
Meanwhile, moisture from Kay will continue to stream into
Southern California. This will cause torrential rainfall in
some locations in the region. The greatest chance of
flooding will be in the mountains and deserts. Earl will
cause rough surf and rip currents on the East Coast.
