NATIONAL SUMMARY
A few thunderstorms in upstate New York and northern New
England could turn locally gusty in northern Maine tomorrow.
Late-afternoon and evening thunderstorms may turn strong in
southern Nebraska and northern Kansas. Much of central and
southern Texas will be at risk for showers and
thunderstorms. Elsewhere along the Gulf coast, spottier
thunderstorms are possible and primarily in the afternoon.
Meanwhile, cooler and less humid air will sweep into the
Northeast behind any rain and storms. In contrast,
temperatures will be above normal in the Desert Southwest
and the central valleys of California. The heat in
California will intensify over the holiday weekend,
potentially setting records. In the tropical Atlantic,
multiple areas are being watched for development.
