NATIONAL SUMMARY
Thunderstorms with the potential to produce hail and
damaging winds will move through eastern Ohio, western New
York and western and central Pennsylvania tomorrow
afternoon. A separate area of storms may develop in
southeastern Nebraska and northwestern Missouri. These
storms could be locally strong as they expand into southern
Iowa and central Illinois overnight. A spotty afternoon
thunderstorm is expected to rumble from eastern New Mexico
to the Big Bend of Texas. Much of the West will be dry,
except for a few showers in western and central Washington
state. Intense heat will bake the Southwest, although
temperatures are expected to fall just short of records in
most locations. Only the far northern tier and mountain
locations across the country will escape summerlike heat.
