The Nation's Weather for Sunday, March 2, 2025
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
The next potent storm will begin to make its way onto the
West Coast tomorrow, bringing showers and thunderstorms to
much of California, Oregon and Nevada. Farther east, another
quick-moving storm will develop over the southern Plains,
spreading showers and thunderstorms across Kansas and
Oklahoma during the afternoon and evening. Some
thunderstorms will be capable of producing locally damaging
wind gusts and hail. Gusty winds will also develop across
the southern Plains and the Southwest, and the combination
of dry and windy conditions will result in a high risk of
wildfires in New Mexico and West Texas. With the exception
of a lake-effect snow shower or two in New York, much of the
East will be dry. Temperatures can be 10-20 degrees
Fahrenheit below the historical average across this region.
