_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
The combination of a storm near the New England coast and a
large area of cold air at the jet stream level will allow
for a few showers in the Northeast today, spreading from
west to east. Showers will mainly consist of snow in eastern
portions, while rain showers are confined to the east.
Meanwhile, a system will begin to push northeastward into
the Midwest, bringing steady rain in addition to showers in
South Dakota and Minnesota. The Southeast is expected to be
warmer, coupled with sunny skies and pleasant conditions.
Heat is also forecast to hold over much of the Southwest,
while lower temperatures begin to prevail to the north. In
the Northwest, the second of two storms will push inland,
bringing areas of rain and mountain snow from Washington and
