The Nation's Weather for Friday, December 20, 2024
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
As a clipper storm winds down over the Great Lakes and the
interior Northeast tomorrow, a swath of snow showers and
flurries can extend from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan
southward into western Indiana. Farther south and east, snow
can be steadier at times into West Virginia, with
intermittent snow also likely as far to the north and east
as New York state. A developing coastal storm will produce
rain and perhaps some snow near and along the New England
coastline. A weak storm will bring some snow from North
Dakota to far western Minnesota through the day; a period of
sleet and freezing rain is even possible over northeastern
Montana. For the rest of the West, most locations will be
dry under high pressure. However, a storm to the northwest
will bring showers to the Northwest coast.
