The Nation's Weather for Wednesday, October 9, 2024
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Hurricane Milton will spread heavy, flooding rain and strong
winds across the Florida Peninsula tomorrow. There will be a
dangerous, life-threatening storm surge, long-lasting power
outages and tornadoes. Along the southeastern Atlantic
coast, seas will continue to build with dangerous surf and
rip currents. Elsewhere, warmth will continue across the
West. Many places will be nearly 10 degrees Fahrenheit above
the historical averages, with some places reaching daily
record highs. A storm moving into the Northwest will keep
cool weather in places, with a few showers and areas of
drizzle for northwestern Washington. There can be a few
spotty showers downwind of the Great Lakes. Otherwise, it
will be cool with more clouds than sun in the Northeast.
Pleasant and less humid weather will begin in the Southeast.
