The Nation's Weather for Sunday, June 30, 2024
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Tomorrow, two separate zones with the risk for severe
thunderstorms are expected. For the Eastern Seaboard, an
advancing cold front pushing into a warm and rather moist
air mass may spark storms that can bring hail, damaging wind
gusts and flooding downpours. Farther to the west, storms
from the Denver area northward to western North Dakota and
most of Montana will be capable of producing large,
destructive hail, very strong winds and even some tornadoes
starting in the afternoon. Otherwise, elevated moisture in
the Southeast will support drenching afternoon thunderstorms
for the region. More widely separated coverage of
thunderstorms may be expected westward into Oklahoma and
Kansas, as well as the Four Corners region. The Upper
Midwest and the West Coast may be largely dry.
