NATIONAL SUMMARY
Showers and thunderstorms, some heavy, will continue across
the Florida Peninsula as a tropical rainstorm approaches
from the Gulf of Mexico tomorrow. There can be areas of
flooding and difficult travel, mainly across central and
southern portions of the peninsula. Meanwhile, another storm
will spread thunderstorms across the Midwest during the
afternoon and overnight. Some thunderstorms may become
severe, and will be capable of producing hail and localized
damaging wind gusts. Besides a spotty shower in northern New
England, much the East will remain dry with seasonable
conditions. Additionally, a zone of high pressure will
remain over the West, bringing mainly dry weather with
temperatures well above historical averages across the
interior.
