The Nation's Weather for Wednesday, December 29, 2021
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
A series of storms from the Pacific Ocean will continue to
affect the West tomorrow as pockets of rain and showers
dampen the Southwest Coast and the deserts, while areas of
steady snow are in store from the Sierra Nevada to the Rocky
Mountains. Particularly cold air could emerge from Canada
into the Northwest, northern Plains and even parts of the
Southwest as the opposite corner of the country turns warm
and thundery. The Southeast is expected to have rain and
thunderstorms, those in Mississippi and Alabama likely
producing flash flooding and damaging winds in the
afternoon. Warmth and showers are anticipated to blossom
across the region up into the mid-Atlantic. Elsewhere will
by largely dry across the nation except for some snow in the
Plains and Great Lakes.
