The Nation's Weather for Thursday, February 8, 2024
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Through the day tomorrow, the latest portion of a storm
exiting the West Coast will spark heavy snow at times within
a zone stretching from southern Nevada into southwestern
Utah and through the high terrain of northern and eastern
Arizona, including the Flagstaff area. Rain is expected to
douse cleanup efforts in Southern California, with showers
reaching eastward across much of southern Arizona as the day
progresses. The risk for flurries or snow showers covers
much of the rest of the West as well with an active pattern
remaining in place. The East remains dry, but a storm
tracking eastward from the Plains will bring steady snow
from Montana into the central Dakotas. Showers and areas of
steadier rain can be expected instead from Minnesota
southward to the western Gulf Coast.
