NATIONAL SUMMARY
A significant storm will bring a large area of rain from
Iowa through the Northeast and south into much of the
Southeast and South Central states tomorrow. Rain will soak
areas from Louisiana to Connecticut. Locally severe
thunderstorms will occur in the southern part of this zone,
bringing locally damaging winds, hail and heavy downpours.
At the same time, an area of snow and ice will extend from
Massachusetts through southern Maine. Rain showers will also
extend into central Texas, with more dotting the Southwest.
There can even be some high-elevation snow in Arizona and
New Mexico. Meanwhile, another storm will push ashore in the
West, bringing coastal rain and inland showers and high-
elevation snow. At the same time, much of the northern
Plains will stay dry.
