“We are saying that we are determined to be men. We are determined to be people. We are saying -- We are saying that we are God's children.” – Dr. Martin L. King, Jr. “I’ve Been to the Mountaintop.”
To commemorate Dr. Martin L. King Jr. Day and the heroic steps he took towards the integration of all people, fighting for equality by the use of non-violence, the Choctaw County NAACP will hold its annual MLK Jr. parade on Saturday, January 25 in Ackerman. This year’s theme is “The Dream Still Lives.”
The parade will begin at the walking track in Ackerman at 10:30 a.m., with lineup taking place at 10 a.m. and will end at the Choctaw County Courthouse where a program will take place upstairs.
