Two candidates are vying for mayor in the June 8 municipal general election in Louisville.
Mayor Will Hill, who is seeking a fourth term as mayor of Louisville, will face independent candidate Rion Young in the June 8 general election.
The only contested alderman race in Louisville is Ward 2 race with Cody Ming (Democrat) facing Republican Russ Nowell in the June 8 general election.
All Louisville city elections will be held at the Louisville Coliseum. Polls will be open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. The new term begins for the elected leaders July 1.
Noxapater
The town of Noxapater will have an aldermen election for the 5 seats. Eight persons qualified for the 5 aldermen seats. The top 5 vote getters of the 8 will be sworn in as aldermen.
Persons seeking the alderperson roles are:
Brian Burrage, Chris Wells, Lana Deese, Thomas Bartholomew, Terry Kelley, Jamie Yarbrough Ryals, Cliff Cremeen, and Cornest Hornesburger.
Noxapater Mayor Sammy Carter will remain in his position since he was the only one to qualify.
The general election will be Tuesday, June 8. Polls will be open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. All voting is at the Noxapater Fire Station. The new term begins for the elected leaders July 1.

Saturday, June 5, is the last day for in-person absentee voting in when the city clerks’ offices will be open from 8 a.m. to noon. Registered voters are eligible to vote by an absentee ballot if they are over 65, permanently or temporarily disabled, a college student or will be out of town on the date of the election.
