Over 900 masks were given away in Maben on Saturday by Fire Chief Wayne Yeatman in collaboration with the Controllers 4-H Club leaders, Rose and Robert Graham. Mayor Larry Pruitt and his wife, Deborah, also assisted.
“‘When I posted all roads lead to Maben on Facebook for free masks giveaway, it gave me great pleasure to see the cars start lining up,” according to Rose Graham.
Masks were delivered to disabled citizens of Maben and churches also received them for their congregations.
Controllers 4-H club RACE (Respecting And Caring Everyday) Team president Kaden Simpson attended the funeral of a family member who died from COVID and asked if some could be donated to Purpose for Praise Ministry, which holds services every Sunday. Several members and leaders attended a service with Kaden for the presentation of the masks to the church.
“I am so thankful the masks were given away and I just want to do what I can to help keep others be safe too,” Kaden said.
Plans are in progress for another giveaway soon.
